Ryan Chua is the Head of Taiwan for Macquarie Group and the Head of Macquarie Capital, Taiwan. Macquarie - and its managed funds - is one of the world’s largest investors in renewable energy. Its support for the renewable energy and clean technology sectors is part of a broader commitment to infrastructure. Macquarie has more than $A136 billion of infrastructure assets under management globally and co-invests alongside the world’s leading institutional investors including public sector pension funds. In Taiwan, Macquarie Capital has taken on the role of developer, investor and adviser for a large portfolio of renewable energy projects, including the Formosa 1 and Formosa 2 offshore wind farms.
Prior to his current role, Mr Chua was the Head of NAB Advisory, Asia from 2011 to 2015 when he was in charge of all advisory transactions and client relationships across the power and utilities, infrastructure, metals and mining and agriculture sectors for Asia. Prior to that, Mr Chua started his career with Macquarie from 2004 to 2011 in Sydney in the Energy and Infrastructure team. Mr Chua worked across Macquarie’s infrastructure business in Sydney, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei. Prior to that, Mr Chua also worked for KPMG Corporate Finance.
